ACHPER Tasmania Board Members
Graduated from UTAS in 2006 with a Bachelor of Human Movement. Angela is in her 3rd year principalship. Angela’s international teaching experience (London) and knowledge of the local teaching and learning landscape gives her a great platform to contribute to the ACHPER board. Angela loves her job, is passionate about providing a quality education to every students and works as a personal trainer in her spare time.
Secretary / Treasurer
Kira is currently lecturing in Health and Physical Education at the University of Tasmania, and has previously taught in two primary schools and a district school in Tasmania. Kira is particularly interested in health education in schools and how we can better integrated health into physical education and other core learning areas.
University of Tasmania graduate, Aaron’s teaching experience extends to three primary schools and he has a desire to provide successful and motivating lessons for all. Has an extensive background in Athletics. Aaron joined the ACHPER board to try and gain high quality professional learning for primary school teachers and to continue to build strong networks for all PE teachers.
Patrick is the Learning Area Leader for Health and Physical Education at Launceston Church Grammar School. He completed his Bachelor of Education and Applied Science degrees at the Queensland University of Technology. Patrick is passionate about integrating technology into the classroom.
Anita is a Health and Physical Education teacher at Riverside Primary School – the largest government primary school is Tasmania. She is also on the executive board of the Launceston State Schools Sport Association. In 2017, Anita was named the Outstanding teacher……… ( I don’t have the exact wording of the title with me). She is very passionate about providing quality teaching and learning experiences for all students and actively supports other HPE staff in the north of the state.
As a 2015 Health and Physical Education graduate, Harrison has gained invaluable experience, responsibility, and leadership, teaching at several schools from across Tasmania. He has thrived at giving students direct exposure to health and wellbeing programs from Kindergarten – Year 12. Harrison enjoys implementing events that inspire whole school participation such as the Cross Country Colour Runs, he has successfully delivered. He is excited to further collaborate, grow and showcase his passion in the Health and Physical Education field.
Sam is an HPE/OE teacher at Oatlands District High School and has been involved in the implementation of whole school initiatives working with both ACARA and TASC HPE courses. He enjoys helping students engage with their learning environment and actively seeks to create inspiring and innovative HPE programs. As a board member of the SHSSA, Sam is involved in the operation of a wide range of inter-school sports and carnivals.
Anita is a Health and Physical Education teacher at Taroona High School and is currently undertaking a casual role as the Executive Officer for ACHPER Tasmania whilst on maternity leave. Anita has been an ACHPER Tasmania Board member for the past few years and is a past recipient of the ACHPER Tasmania Outstanding Practitioner in Health and Physical Education for Secondary Schools. Anita has previously lead the delivery of moderation days for all southern secondary schools and contributed to the professional learning of teachers for the Australian Curriculum.
Joshua is a Health and Physical Education Teacher at Cygnet and Franklin Primary Schools, and has previously worked at the North Melbourne Football Club and Healthy Business Performance Group. He completed his Bachelor of Health and Physical Education at the University of Tasmania in 2015 and was the recipient of the 2017 ACHPER Outstanding Early Career Teacher Award.
